Investigators claim that Ashraf Danish, a major member of the organization, was running the module from India while communicating with people in Pakistan through social media and encrypted channels. According to the investigation, the accused recruited young people in India into their network and radicalized them through these means.

According to police officials who spoke to ANI, the gang also operated a number of online groups with the goal of dividing religious concord and fostering animosity among communities.

As part of a large-scale counterterrorism operation, raids were carried out in four to five states, questioning over eight people, officials said. Five people, including two from Delhi and one each from Madhya Pradesh, Hyderabad, and Ranchi, have been detained thus far on suspicion of engaging in terrorism-related activities.
