Le Meridien New Delhi has started a new and unique idea – giving guests water made from air. This is called the Atmospheric Water Initiative, and it makes the hotel both modern and eco-friendly.
What Is Atmospheric Water?
Atmospheric water means water created from the moisture (humidity) in the air. A special machine collects this moisture, purifies it, adds minerals, and makes it safe to drink.

Who Is Involved?
The atmospheric water initiative at Le Meridien New Delhi was initiated by Mr. Tarun Thakral, who is the CEO of CJ International Hotels Limited
Le Meridien is working with:
K2 Atmospheric Mineral Water – to make sure the water is healthy and mineral-rich.
Watergen – a company that makes machines to turn air into water.

How Guests Will Get It
- The hotel will serve this air-made water to guests.
- It will come in glass bottles instead of plastic ones.
- The water is fresh, clean, and good for health.
Why Is This Important?
- No Plastic Waste: No more single-use plastic bottles.
- Eco-Friendly: Saves water and protects nature.
- Better Experience: Guests enjoy pure water with a touch of luxury.
A Step Towards Future
This project shows that luxury and care for the planet can go together. By using air to make water, Le Meridien is showing a smart way to save resources and reduce pollution.
Next time you stay at Le Meridien New Delhi, the water you drink will not come from a bottle or underground – it will come straight from the air around you.
We are the first hotel in India to introduce a pioneering initiative that transforms the way water is sourced and served. This step not only sets new benchmarks for sustainability in hospitality but also gives our guests the privilege of experiencing something truly extraordinary,” said Tarun Thakral, CEO at CJ International Hotels Ltd.
